Navigating the ACCA Changes of 2027: What You Need to Know

ACCA have redesigned the qualification for a redefined profession.

ACCA want to build on the past to improve the future and they have announced that they are changing the qualification to meet the needs of this world, providing students with the relevant values and skills they need for the future.

ACCA will introduce sustainable business practices together with integrated technology and the use of AI to empower students and accountants to face these new challenges.

They will be using the latest learning innovations and technology to guide students to become the accountants of the future, by bringing is real world business elements which will improve student employability.

These changes are designed to ensure the qualification continues to strengthen the link between classroom knowledge and exams with workplace skills that employers need right now.

In the major launch announcement:

Helen Brand explained the needs of the professional and the student, and how ACCA are planning to meet them.

“The profession has to respond to this changed world”

So in reality what does this mean?

Firstly the ACCA route will change from 13 to 11 exams, with only one option paper (out of a choice of 5 papers) required at Strategic Professional level.

Secondly there are now 3 new levels to the ACCA qualification:

·        Knowledge

·        Expertise

·        Strategic Professional

Thirdly there are three levels of compulsory employability modules which now need to be completed.
